Wind turbine out of control (video clip) PDF Print E-mail

The following link will take you to a video of a wind turbine out of control in Denmark on February 22nd 2008. Just click on the image.

The wind turbine was in Hornsalt, Aarhus, Denmark it had a failure of the speed control and the blades collided with the tower.  It resulted in an explosion completely distroying the turbine the blades and the tower.

This is another reason why the set back distance of wind farms should be greater.  500 metres is far too close. Blades have been known to have been thrown considerable distances.
