An e- petition has been opened on the Prime Ministers 10 Downing Street website calling for a halt to on shore wind farm developments on Greenbelt land. It is asking the government to re-issue guidance to local authorities to only allow on-shore developments to be sited on brownfield sites, and that they should be at least 2km away from any residential property. The e-petition reads “We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to stop all current on-shore Wind Farm development in Greenbelt areas until a national planning policy for renewable energy has been established.”  The petition organisers, Melton Wood Action Group, are trying to obtain over 30,000 signatories to ensure this petition is in the top 5 petitions on the Prime Ministers web site.   So if you would like to sign this e-petition click here.
