I find the idea of a wind farm along Went Edge quite simply - unbelievable!  Like many people I certainly appreciate the need to consider alternative energy sources but surely not at the expense of local communities and local people's quality of daily life.  As a WMDC Councillor it is clear to me that the views of local people should feature first and foremost in our minds, and when we look at the impact of this proposal on Darrington, Wentbridge, East Hardwick and beyond the disruption to all our lives is obvious.  What about, as well the people living on West Park, whose view, living conditions and quality of life will be significantly affected by the erection of such a monstrosity.

It is also hard to accept that a local planning decision can be overturned on appeal by Bristol.  What does this say for our local planning process?  What faith can we have when the government step in and overturn such decisions?

Worryingly, we now hear of plans for two further wind farms in close proximity - what have we done in our part of the world to be subjected to such threat? Add to these the consideration of Darringfield as a proposed Eco Town site and if we are not careful, and we don't put up proper and considered opposition our landscape, life quality and daily living conditions may change beyond all recognition - and not for the better!!

We must continue to fight this cause otherwise our lives will be changed forever.
