| What can I do? |

Write a letter to your MP asking them to inform the Secretary of State to reject this appeal. The final decision on the Westfield Lane wind farm will be made by the Secretary of State. We need our MP's to let the Secretary of State know how we feel. The most important thing you can do now is to write to your local MP supporting Wakefield M.D.C's refusal of the this wind farm and ask them to inform the Secretary of State to reject this appeal. Councillor Peter Box, Leader of the Wakefield Council has already written: "I fully support the decision of the Planning and Highways Committee. The Council is committed to achieving our targets for renewable energy, but this must not be at the expense of the landscape and amenity of local people. I consider that this proposal would cause substantial harm. I endorse the many representations made by the people of Darrington and the wider area against this proposal, and urge the Secretary of State to reject this appeal." Send your own objection to your local MP asking them to inform the Secretary of State to reject this appeal. We also need as many to object as possible, so ask your neighbours to do the same. For your MP to act on your behalf please ensure that you include your own contact details including your postal address.

You may be aware that the decision of Wakefield Planning Committee to refuse permission for the above wind farm has been appealed by the developer. There will now be a Public Inquiry. The final decision will be made by the Secretary of State.
We believe that to finally defeat this industrialisation of ‘Went Edge' we require the best possible representation. We are engaging a specialist team, including a barrister. This team have represented both local authorities and resident's groups and have had considerable success in this sphere. However, the cost of such service is not cheap.
We are appealing to everyone for financial support in this ultimate stage of our struggle. As the final legal costs are unknown, we are looking to raise a substantial fund. In the event we do not use the full amount we will return money to donors on a pro rata basis i.e if we raise a large fund and only use 50% then we will return half of each original donation.
We are grateful for all your help in the past but please give this appeal serious consideration - any contribution would be an investment to protect your quality of life, the character of the area where you have chosen to live and the value of your property.
W.M.D.C. agree with us, as does our M.P. that this site is totally inappropriate. Let's give ourselves every chance of defeating this application for good.
