Wind test mast to be removed

Banks Developments Ltd have said that the wind test mast on Westfield Lane will be removed in the week commencing Monday 13th September 2010. The 60 metres test mast was originally erected on the site in March 2008.

Banks confirm they are not taking the matter further

After the Communities' secretary Eric Pickles upholds the council's initial decision, refusing planning permission again, Banks confirmed they are not taking the matter further. Magaging Director Phil Dyke confirmed Banks would not be challanging the decision in the High Court. He said "we have decided in this instance to accept the inspector's report and not to take the application any further."

TIRELESS protestors who won a people power victory against a wind farm say "a cloud has lifted" with the plan's rejection.

Banks Renewables' proposal for ﬁve 125-metre turbines off Westﬁeld Lane, Darrington, was refused again when Wakeﬁeld Council's initial decision to throw it out was upheld by the government last week.
