Blimp flies over Darrington during August 2007 |
Watch out for our blimp that will be flying at 125m above Westfield Lane. It will be flying on Tuesday's, Saturday's and Sunday's during August 2007, dependent upon weather conditions. This will give local residents an opportunity to see how massive these proposed wind turbines would be. PWAG has Civil Aviation Authority approval to fly the blimp at 125m above Went Edge from 10am to 7pm on designated days. The blimp, which is only six metres long, less than 1/10th of the length of the proposed wind turbine blades, can be seen for miles around. We've had a great deal of interest from concerned residents regarding the incredible height of the proposed wind turbines.

We urgently need more volunteers! |
In spite of our success in campaigning to have the Planning Application for a wind mast on Went Edge to be refused, we are still having problems attracting enough volunteers to fight the main Planning Application for six 125m tall wind turbines. Our volunteers play an incredibly valuable role in helping to run local events, writing or distributing newsletters, raising funds etc. We are always in need of more willing participants who, like us, want to help increase awareness of the threat to our local communities of a wind farm being built on Went Edge.
