Wind farm noise unbearable |

A letter in the Brechin Advertiser dated 14 May 2007 highlights the plight of Jane Davis and her family who for the last 11 months have suffered unbearable wind turbine noise which has peaked at 66dB. Despite this, there is no breach of the wind turbine ETSU-R-97 noise guidelines.

Application for wind monitor mast in Shropshire rejected |
Plans for a 60-metre high wind monitoring mast next to a Shropshire reservoir have been thrown out by councillors who claimed it would be a “monstrosity” in the countryside. The proposal for the 200ft mast at Chelmarsh reservoir, near Bridgnorth, was thought to signal the first step in a plan to build one or more wind turbines at the site.

BBC Look North film in Darrington |
|
Darrington played host to the BBC Look North team on 27 March 2007. Harry Gration and Christa Ackroyd came along to talk to local residents who are opposing the proposed wind farm development between Westfield Lane and Moor Lane near Darrington. There was a large turnout of residents from Darrington and surrounding communities to voice their concern. The news item was watched by thousands of viewers on BBC TVs Look North program when it was broadcast on Tuesday 27 March 2007.
