P.W.A.G. have applied for an unmarked footpath that crosses the wind farm site to be clearly marked. If thefootpath was in regular use it would be difficult to build a wind farm so close to it.
We are anxious to collect further evidence of this footpath and would like to hear from anyone who may have walked the footpath at any time or who may have access to any old records e.g. any formerwaterboard employees. We believe the footpath was used daily by the waterboard to access the local pumping station for Darrington.
Notices have been posted at either end of the footpath and people should be encouraged to establish the route. It is evidence to show that had the path been clearly marked, it would have been used by the public. It's existence provides the walker with alternative access to the Went Hills and for the casual stroller it provides a manageable circular walk, and a valuable amenity for the area.
